Legal Advice and Assistance

In collaboration with other charitable groups (churches, charitable organisations active in the field of migration), refugee and migrant charitable organisations run legal consultation offices in major towns to assist asylum applicants. These non-governmental organisations are affiliated to the Swiss Refugee Council. They provide:

  • An analysis of a claim’s chances of success;
  • Advice about official decisions;
  • Support in case of personal problems;
  • Assistance in case of problems with administrative services;
  • Legal representation.
The majority of these offices offer their consultations for free. Support by these offices is usually only offered to those asylum applicants who are in economic need.
Usually an appointment must be made by telephone.
