Immigrating to Switzerland
Foreigners can, by principle, immigrate to Switzerland for the purpose of employment or for the purpose of family reunification. They have the further possibility to enter the country for educational purposes.
Immigration matters are ruled by the Swiss Aliens Law. Since the bilateral agreements (Freedom of Movement Agreement and the revised EFTA Convention) came into force, regulations applying to EU / EFTA nationals with regard to living and settling in Switzerland are different from those applying to third country nationals
