Exercise and health
It is never too late to take up regular exercise! There are countless benefits to taking physical exercise. Keeping fit reduces the risk of many common problems such as obesity, heart diseases, diabetes, osteoporois, back pains, breast cancer and cancer of the colon.
Being physically active can also improve mental well-being and help you to manage stress, anxiety and even depression.
People who are physically active live longer and better, requiring less medical care. People of all ages can enjoy regular exercise, even for the first time in their lives.
For adults, 30 minutes of physical activity per day is enough to see a great improvement in health, well-being, quality of life and energy levels. People who already have active lives will benefit from taking up regular sport or exercise to work on circulation, endurance, strength and flexibility.
Young people and teenagers should be physically active for an hour per day, and children even more! Young people need regular weekly activities that strengthen bones, circulation, the heart, muscles, flexibilty and balance.
Sports should be done safely, but the benefits of regular physical activity greatly outweigh any undesired effects.
